Back
in 2002, Jeremy Spurgeon began learning to play the mandolin. His Dad gave him his first mandolin, but it needed
a strap. Jeremy really liked the look of a braided leather strap and began looking for one to purchase.
He didn't have much luck finding one he liked, so he thought he would try making one on his own. He purchased
some leather strips and began experimenting with different ideas. Before long he had designed a very
attractive and functional mandolin strap for his new mandolin. After a few people asked him where he got the strap,
Jeremy thought he might have a business opportunity and Spurgeon Mandolin Straps was born.
Since then, thousands of Spurgeon straps have
been delivered to satisfied customers around the world. We have delivered straps all over the United States and many other
countries, including places as far away as Australia and Japan!
Over the years Spurgeon straps have also found their way into the hands
of professional musicians like Sam Bush, Chris Thile, Ricky Skaggs, Lex Price, and Steve Kaufman. Spurgeon straps are the
official mandolin strap of Michael Johnathon and the Woodsongs Old-time Radio Hour and Roscoe Morgan now uses our deluxe
model on his Eastman mandolins as well!
Each Spurgeon strap is made of high quality leather strips, purchased right here in the USA, and that quality is
hand braided into every strap we make.
Our straps are designed to fit around the scroll on F-style mandolins and
around the peghead or strap pin on A-styles.
